I used to invest
so much of my time into my work such that it largely dominated my life. I
missed some important milestones in the lives of my family and friends.
Today I ask,
was it worth it? The answer is that it is complicated.
If I had not
worked and been on top of my game, I could not have retired before 40
comfortably without any debts.
But could I
have still managed to create a balance even while working hard to be on top?
Definitely! It would have been tough but again if you have done everything at
work to meet your delivery and sales targets set by your boss then you can also endeavor
equally to meet a personal target set by you (you are your own boss).
One of my
personal targets that I am fulfilling right now but did not quite then:
Invest
my time and effort on People & Relationships
